- Watermelon Pieces – 3Cups (480gms)
- Hung Curd – 1Cup (300gms)
- Seedless Dates – 12
- Powdered Sugar – To Taste (Optional)
Wash and cut watermelon into wedges. Remove seeds of watermelon wedges and cut it into small pieces. Arrange the watermelon pieces in a shallow bowl and freeze.
Take 2 seedless dates and chop them into small pieces---use this for garnishing. Chop the remaining 10 dates into pieces.
Method:Place a sieve in a bowl lined with a thin cloth. Add curd into the cloth covered sieve and cover it with a plate. Place the curd bowl in refrigerator till all water is drained from the curd and collected into the bowl below.
Take a small mixie jar and add chopped 10 dates and grind till smooth.
Take a blender and add frozen watermelon pieces, hung curd, dates paste and blend till smooth. Pour the prepared smoothie into serving glasses and serve garnished with the chopped dates.
Points To Observe:
As watermelon contains lot of water do not add ice to chill the smoothie---instead freeze the watermelon pieces and use.
The water in the water melon and hung curd when blended brings the right consistency to the smoothie.
Dates give a special flavor and sweetness to the smoothie.
No need to add sugar to the smoothie as dates provide the required sweetness---however if required add powdered sugar as it mixes well into the smoothie.
Serve the smoothie chilled on a hot summer day.
