Recipe Text

Ingredients:

  • Cow Peas Beans – 300gms
  • Potatoes – 100gms
  • Black Gram – 2tsps
  • Mustard Seeds – 1tsp
  • Cumin Seeds – 1tsp
  • Curry Leaves – Few
  • Salt to Taste
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/8tsp
  • Vepudu Karam – 1tsp
  • Oil – 5tsps

Preparations:

Wash and clean the cow pea beans. Cut the Bobbarlu into small pieces as shown in the movie. Wash, clean and peel the Potatoes. Cut the Potatoes into cubes. Take the cut vegetables in a microwave safe bowl and add some water. Microwave the vegetables on high power for 5 minutes. Stir once with a spoon and microwave the vegetables on low power (30%) for 7 minutes. Give standing time of 5 minutes before taking out the cooked vegetables from the microwave oven.

Method:

Heat a pan and add oil to it. When the oil is hot add the black gram and fry till it starts changing color. Then add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Fry till the seeds splutter. Add the curry leaves and fry. Add the turmeric powder and mix well. Now add the cooked vegetables and mix well. Now add salt, mix and cook covered on slow flame for 2 minutes.

Add the vepudukaram just at the finishing level and mix well. Transfer the curry to a serving bowl and serve hot with plain rice.

Point To Remember:

These cow peas are rich in Vitamins and Proteins. They are bland in taste.

So take care to add right amount of salt to get good taste.

One can avoid Potatoes in this dish. This Preparation is an IGURU KOORA where the taste comes from the vegetable itself. IGURU KOORALU are better for health too.

Enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
